A Lip Balm or A Lip Salve is a waxy substance that can be applied to moisturise or ease pain due to dry or chapped lips.

Lip balms aid in protecting your lips from dry air, wind, and cold temperatures. There is more to a lip balm other than just its restoring benefits. There is a wide variety of alluring lip balms in the market. You can buy one with a glossy after-application look, or one which enhances the natural colour. Furthermore, lip balms come in multiple flavours and pleasant scents. 

But sometimes lip balms can worsen the condition of your lips. Yes, you read that, right! Many brands use allergen in their lip balms which may cause lip rash. This lip rash mimics chapped lips. Many times potentially hazardous chemicals like paraffin, petrolatum, dyes, and phenol are used in their making. These chemicals are not at all good for your skin. 

Save yourself from the trouble! Make specially customised lip balms for your lips! Here are 5 DIYs which you can use to make all-natural lip balms at home!

1.DIY Rose Lip Balm

  • Melt 1 tablespoon of beeswax and add ½ tablespoon castor oil to it.
  • Mix well and add 1 tablespoon of cocoa butter along with 3 tablespoons rose-infused oil to it.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for some fragrance.
  • Add ¼ teaspoon of powdered alkanet root for some natural colour.
  • Let the mixture cool down. Pour into a jar or a container and place it in the fridge for it to set.
  • Apply and say hello to gorgeous lips!

2.DIY Peppermint Oil Lip Balm

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of white beeswax pellets in a double boiler or a stove.
  •  Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and sweet almond oil each.
  • Stir the ingredients well and add peppermint essential oil.
  • Let the mixture cool down. Pour it into a lip balm container and place it in the fridge for it to set.
  • Apply and voila! Luscious lips say hi!

3.DIY Pure Essential Oil Lip Balm

  • Melt a small amount of soy wax.
  • Add ¼ cup of mango or cocoa butter to the wax and mix well.
  • Add several drops of an essential oil of your choice.
  • You may add a small amount of beer root powder for a little color.
  •  Stir well until there are no lumps.
  • Let the mixture cool down. Pour it into a lip balm container and place it in the fridge for it to set.
  • Apply to get amazing results!

4.DIY Chocolate and Mint Lip Balm

  • Begin with melting by melting 2 teaspoons of white beeswax pellets. 
  • Once melted add 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder and stir until a smooth paste is formed.
  • Add 2 teaspoons sweet almond oil and peppermint oil.
  • Let the mixture cool down. Pour it into a lip balm container and place it in the fridge for it to set.
  • Savour the delicious taste while showing off those lovely lips!

 5.DIY Beeswax Lip Balm

  • Begin with melting by melting 2 teaspoons of white beeswax pellets. 
  • After the wax has melted, add 1 tablespoon  virgin coconut oil and a small amount of organic raw honey.
  • Mix well.
  • Next, add in 2 capsules of Vitamin E.
  • Let the mixture cool down. Pour it into a lip balm container and place it in the fridge for it to set.
  • Apply the nourishing treat to your lips and make them healthy again!
